Meet The Team

Melina Towlen

Operations Manager

As Operations Manager at The Living Room, Melina brings a background rooted in supporting individuals through both academic and personal challenges, gaining their confidence to walk alongside their struggles. Prior to joining our team, while earning her bachelor’s degree in English, she worked collaboratively with college students as an academic coach and tutor. In this role she supported those who were struggling not only with their coursework but also with the accompanying mental and emotional stress. As a result she developed a genuine appreciation for the connection between mental health and daily life.

Since entering the behavioral health field in early 2025, Melina’s approach is grounded in patience, holding space through listening, and meeting people where they are. She strives to create an environment where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves and are encouraged to find a deeper understanding of the different parts of themselves, recognizing that each part has a purpose.

Melina’s connection to this work is also personal. Having faced her own mental health challenges, she understands how overwhelming those times can be. During some of her most difficult moments, meditation became a practice that helped her turn inward with greater awareness and compassion. That lived experience largely drives her commitment to this work today. The Living Room is meaningful to her because it represents a space where people can come as they are and receive genuine support. Drawing from both professional experience and personal understanding, Melina aims to create space for others to go on their journey at The Living Room with curiosity and openness.
